At the heart of our mission lies a commitment to transforming the
lives of individuals and families
affected by sickle cell disease. The Wamiri Sickle Cell Foundation,
established with a vision of a world
where no one has to suffer from the burdens of sickle cell, stands
as a beacon of hope, support, and
advocacy.
Our journey began with a simple yet passionate movement - to make a
positive impact on the lives of
those battling sickle cell
disease. Named after the Yoruba word "Wamiri," meaning "Located,"
our
foundation embodies the strength and resilience that sickle cell
warriors demonstrate every day.
Our aim is to ensure early detection and reduce
stigmatization and discrimination often faced by
warriors.
We provide a safe space for warriors to receive all
the love, care and support they need.
We provide assistance to warriors in need of
health care services.
We offer a range of support services, including counseling, educational workshops, and financial assistance, to help individuals and families navigate the challenges of sickle cell disease.
We conduct awareness campaigns, seminars, and educational programs to increase public understanding of sickle cell disease and promote early detection.
We work tirelessly to influence policy changes and improve
healthcare access for individuals living with sickle cell disease.
